12.  The last straw: the final problem that caused pone to make a decision to leave.  

Examples:

1.      At the Drop of a Hat: He's always ready to help, and he'll come over to fix your computer at the drop of a hat.

 

2.      Barking Up the Wrong Tree: If you think I'm the one who ate your sandwich, you're barking up the wrong tree. I wasn't even in the office yesterday.

 

3.      Cloud Nine: When she got the job offer, she was on cloud nine for weeks.

 

4.      Devil's Advocate: I'll play devil's advocate here and argue the other side of the issue just to make sure we've considered all possibilities.

 

5.      Far Cry From: This new smartphone is a far cry from my old one; it has so many more features.

 

6.      It Takes Two to Tango: A successful negotiation requires compromise from both sides; it takes two to tango.

 

7.      Keep Something at Bay: Regular exercise can help keep health problems at bay.
