Life lessons from the story
It is very clear from the story that employers like to look for honest employees for their organisations. They sometimes rely on their intuition to know whether a prospective employee is honest or not. When employees pass this honesty test, their employe trust them with serious jobs, especially handling cash and accounts. As the story indicates, employees have to learn many tricks of the trade on the job. When the try to implement their tricks on their own without the knowledge of the employer they get into trouble. It is a bitter truth that sometimes it is not enough to be honest alone. Sometimes your honesty might not be appreciated by your employer unless previously notified.
Proper communication between employer and employee about workplace strategie is essential to avoid any kind of misunderstanding between them. While the employe may give a list of do's and don't about various routine activities and adequat training to handle emergency situations to their employees, the latter also have lean how to function well in the absence of the employer. Whatever may happen in the workplace, employees should not assume certain things and act on their own. Such an act may jeopardise not only their own job but also the employer's business.
