Answer:

1.      Assertive skills refer to the abilities and behaviors that enable a person to communicate effectively while respecting their own rights and the rights of others. These skills include clear communication, setting boundaries, active listening, and problem-solving.

 

2.      Assertiveness differs from aggression in that assertive communication is respectful and considerate of others' feelings and rights, while aggression is forceful, disrespectful, and often seeks to dominate or harm others. Assertiveness aims to find a balance between expressing one's needs and respecting the needs of others, while aggression typically disregards the needs of others.

 

3.      Characteristics of an assertive person include clear and direct communication, respect for others, honesty, the ability to set and maintain boundaries, self-confidence, active listening, effective problem-solving, emotional control, and a focus on finding mutually beneficial solutions in conflicts.

 

4.      Employers prefer assertive candidates because they are more likely to be effective communicators, work well in teams, handle conflicts constructively, and take initiative. Assertive individuals are often better at advocating for themselves and their ideas, which can lead to increased productivity and more positive workplace interactions.
