1.     Dragging: Pull heavily or slowly, Trail, haul

2.     Hollow: empty, unfilled

3.     Solemnly: grave, serious, formal

4.     Clutched: grappled, held

5.     Turn in: to make entrance

6.     Interruption: disturbance, interfere, hurdle

7.     Mysterious: suspense, puzzling, furious

8.     Rival: enemy, competitor

9.     Conjuring: horror

10. Reckless: careless, daring

11. Misery: agony, distress, suffering

12. Astonished: surprised

13. Wretched: broken

Examples:


Dragging: To pull something along a surface, often slowly or with effort.

Example: She was dragging her heavy suitcase through the airport.

 

Hollow: Having an empty or unfilled space inside.

Example: The tree had a hollow trunk where animals could take shelter.

 

Solemnly: In a grave, serious, or formal manner.

Example: The judge solemnly administered the oath to the witness.

 

Clutched: To grasp or hold onto something tightly.

Example: He clutched the railing as he looked down from the high bridge.

 

Turn in: To submit something, such as homework or a report.

Example: Please turn in your assignments at the end of the class.

 

Interruption: A disturbance or break in a continuous process or conversation.

Example: The phone call was an annoying interruption during their meeting.

 

Mysterious: Involving an element of suspense, difficult to understand or explain.

Example: The old, abandoned house had a mysterious aura about it.

 

Rival: A competitor or someone in competition with another.

Example: The two companies are fierce rivals in the smartphone market.

 

Conjuring: The act of performing magic tricks or invoking supernatural forces.

Example: The magician amazed the audience with his conjuring skills.

 

Reckless: Acting without care or caution, often daring to the point of danger.

Example: His reckless driving led to a car accident.

 

Misery: Extreme suffering, distress, or unhappiness.

Example: The poverty in the area caused a great deal of misery among its residents.

 

Astonished: To be very surprised or amazed by something.

Example: She was astonished by the unexpected gift from her friend.

 

Wretched: In a state of great suffering or unhappiness, often due to poor living conditions.

Example: The wretched beggar had no place to call home.

 

Dryly: In a humorously sarcastic or matter-of-fact manner.

Example: He responded to the criticism with a dryly witty remark.
