Discuss these questions in groups of four or five and share your answers with the class. Ead group can choose one topic. 1. What role does honesty play in the workplace? Is it important to be honest Why? 2. Could being honest all the time create problems in the workplace? What might they be? 3. We complain of or see many instances of dishonesty in organisations. Why do you think this takes place? Is corruption the same as dishonesty? 4. Could you imagine a life without honesty and integrity? What will happen it there were no honest people?

Ans:


1. Honesty plays a crucial role in the workplace because it establishes trust among employees, superiors, and clients. It fosters a transparent and ethical work environment, which is essential for collaboration and the long-term success of an organization.

 2. Being honest all the time in the workplace is generally important, but it can create some challenges. For instance, employees might struggle with delivering negative feedback honestly, fearing it could lead to conflict or hurt feelings. Striking a balance between being honest and considerate is key. 

 3. Dishonesty in organizations can occur for various reasons, including pressure to meet targets, lack of proper ethical guidance, and personal gain. Dishonesty and corruption are related but not the same; dishonesty covers a broader range of deceitful actions, while corruption often involves misuse of power for personal benefit.

 4. A life without honesty and integrity would be chaotic and untrustworthy. Trust would erode, relationships would break down, and organizations and societies would be plagued by deceit and corruption. Honest people are essential for maintaining stability and ethical standards in any community.
