Role play ch: Leaning Skills

Work in pairs and enact this situation.

Think about something you have wanted to learn but have been prevented from doing so. For example, you may have wanted to learn a computer language, driving, swimming, singing, playing a musical instrument, dancing, or pursue a course of study. Imagine that you get an opportunity to fulfill your dreams. Meet the instructor and ask questions regarding your course.

Instructor: Hello there! Welcome to your first day of learning. What can I help you with?

Learner: Hi! I've always wanted to learn how to play the guitar, but I never had the chance. Can you tell me more about your guitar lessons?

Instructor: Of course! Our guitar lessons cover everything from basic chords to advanced techniques. We focus on building a strong foundation while also catering to your personal goals. Have you ever played any musical instruments before?

Learner: No, this would be my first time. Do I need to have any prior experience or knowledge of music theory?

Instructor: Not at all! Our lessons are designed for beginners, so we'll start from the very basics. We'll cover music theory as we go along, so you'll learn everything you need to know.

Learner: That sounds perfect! How often are the lessons, and how long do they last?

Instructor: We offer lessons twice a week, and each session is one hour long. However, we can adjust the schedule to fit your availability if needed.

Learner: That works for me. What kind of guitar do I need for the lessons?

Instructor: Ideally, you'll need an acoustic guitar to start with, but if you have an electric guitar, that can work too. If you don't have one yet, I can recommend some affordable options for beginners.

Learner: Great, I'll look into getting one. How soon can I start, and what's the first step?

Instructor: You can start as soon as you're ready! The first step is to schedule your first lesson, where we'll go over the basics and set up a personalized learning plan for you.

Learner: Awesome, I can't wait to get started! Thanks for answering all my questions.

Instructor: My pleasure! I'm excited to help you begin your musical journey. Let's make some beautiful music together!
