Exercise :1  

1. Secretary: Dr. Rajaram, I'd like to take this opportunity to thank you for accepting our invitation to inaugurate the new auditorium.

Dr. Rajaram: It’s my pleasure! I’m honored to be a part of such a wonderful event. Congratulations to the entire team on this achievement.

2. Student: Thank you so much, ma’am. Your guidance really helped me prepare for the debate.
Teacher: You're welcome, Babu. I was happy to help you prepare for the debate. I'm glad you did so well. Congratulations!

3. Annie: Thanks for the lovely dupatta you got me from Chandigarh, Rehana. It's really so sweet of you.
Rehana: I’m so happy you liked it, Annie! I thought it would suit you perfectly.

Nitish: Thank you, Ramesh, for helping with all the arrangements for my sister's wedding.
Ramesh: My pleasure, Nitish. Everything went so well!

4. Mrs. Nair: Thank you for giving me a lift, Balan. Without your help, I wouldn’t have reached the station on time.
Balan: Don’t mention it, auntie! I’m glad I could help.

Shilpa meets Fatima after her wedding

Shilpa: Fatima! It’s so good to see you. Thank you so much for the beautiful jewelry set. It was absolutely perfect for my wedding!

Fatima: Oh, I’m so glad you liked it, Shilpa! I wanted to give you something special for your big day.

Shilpa: I really loved the intricate design. It matched my bridal outfit beautifully!

Fatima: That’s wonderful to hear! I was hoping it would complement your look.

Shilpa: I’d love for you to come over sometime. We’ll sit and catch up properly!

Fatima: That sounds great! Thank you for inviting me. I’d love to visit.

Shilpa: See you soon then! Take care.

Fatima: You too! Bye!


2. Santosh gets ready to leave his friend Jai's house after staying with him for a month.

Santosh: Jai, I just wanted to say a big thank you for the wonderful stay. I had an amazing time here!

Jai: I’m so glad to hear that, Santosh! It was great having you over, and I’m happy you enjoyed the visit.

Santosh: I absolutely loved the delicious food, our outings, and all the fun I had with your parents. They were so warm and welcoming!

Jai: That means a lot! Everyone in my family will miss you, and so will I.

Santosh: You must visit me during summer vacation. It would be great to host you at my place!

Jai: That sounds like a plan! Thanks for inviting me.

Santosh: Well, it’s time for me to leave for the bus depot. Goodbye, Jai!

Jai: Take care, Santosh! Have a safe journey, and keep in touch!

D. 3. Joseph thanks the principal for allowing his daughter to take the exams despite her illness.

Joseph: Good morning, sir. I wanted to ask if my daughter, Ritu, would be allowed to take her final exams. She had to miss classes for two months due to illness.

Principal: Good morning, Mr. Joseph. Yes, Ritu will be allowed to take her final exams once she submits a medical certificate from the doctor who treated her.

Joseph: Thank you so much, sir! I truly appreciate your support.

Principal: It’s all right. Ritu had been too ill to attend college, so it’s understandable.

Joseph: I’ll make sure to submit the medical certificate within the next two days.

Principal: That would be fine.

Joseph: Thank you again, sir. I’ll take your leave now.

Principal: You’re welcome. Have a good day!



Additional Dialogue: 
1. Keyur goes to his Head of the Department, Mr. Nair, with request for a week’s leave. 

Scenario 1: Keyur Requests Leave from His HOD

Keyur: Good morning, sir. May I have a moment?
Mr. Nair: Good morning, Keyur. What’s the matter?
Keyur: Sir, I’d like to request a week’s leave from the 10th to the 16th. I have a personal commitment that requires my attention.
Mr. Nair: A week is quite a long time, Keyur. Is it something urgent?
Keyur: Yes, sir. I’ve ensured that my work is up to date, and I’ll coordinate with my team before leaving.
Mr. Nair: Alright. Submit a formal leave application, and I’ll review it. But make sure your responsibilities are managed in your absence.
Keyur: Absolutely, sir. Thank you for your understanding.



2. Kaveri thanks her friend for her Birthday gift.

Scenario 2: Kaveri Thanks Her Friend for a Birthday Gift

Kaveri: Hey, Anaya! I just got your gift—it's absolutely beautiful! Thank you so much!
Anaya: I’m so glad you liked it, Kaveri! I wanted to get you something special.
Kaveri: You did! This book is exactly what I wanted. You know me so well!
Anaya: Haha, of course! Hope you had a wonderful birthday.
Kaveri: I did, and your gift made it even better! Thanks again!
