A Journey...

 A Journey...

The Girl Who Waits by the Shore: My Story of Love, Blood & Bond.

Loving someone who belongs to the sea is not easy. You don’t just fall in love with a person—you fall in love with his absence, his voice through network cracks, his letters from unknown ports, and the silence that often follows. My journey as a Merchant Navy fiancée has tested me, shaped me, and above all, strengthened me.

But I have not walked this path alone.

There’s my brother—the one who never needed words to understand my heart. The one who saw me cry when I waved goodbye at the port, but didn’t ask why. He simply sat beside me in silence, offering his strength when mine wavered. He’s my anchor on stormy days. He still calls me “strong” even when I break a little inside. He’s more than a sibling—he’s the quiet hero of my story.

Then there’s my mama—my guide, my gentle protector. He has always believed in me, even when I doubted myself. When people said, “Why choose a man who is never around?”, he was the one who stood beside me and said, “Because she’s choosing love, and love is worth waiting for.” He reminds me that love is not about constant presence—it’s about constant faith. His words are like the lighthouse that brings my drifting heart back home.

And my jiju, my brother, not by birth but by life. He teases me endlessly but defends me fiercely. He makes light of my worries, just to make me smile. He’s the one who keeps me grounded when my emotions rise like high tide. He always says, “He’ll come back—he always does.” And in those simple words, I find hope.

Of course, at the heart of this journey is him—the one who sails. The one who carries my love across continents. The one who promised, “Distance will never lessen what I feel for you.” And he’s kept that promise in every little message, every memory, and every dream we continue to build despite the miles between us.

This life isn’t ordinary—it’s a blend of patience, faith, and love that knows how to wait.

I miss him. I wait for him. But I never feel alone… because I have my brother’s strength, my mama’s belief, my jiju’s laughter—and a love that’s braver than the sea.
