And I am Aarav. Our main story today is the devastating flood disaster that struck Nepal in August 2026 and continues to affect thousands of people.

On 26 August 2026, a massive flood and debris flow struck areas of northern Nepal, particularly around Rasuwa and the Trishuli River region near the Nepal–China border. The disaster caused widespread destruction of homes, roads, bridges and hydropower facilities.

According to Nepal's disaster management authorities, by mid-September, more than 1,400 people had died and thousands remained missing. Rescue teams have been working in difficult mountainous terrain to search for survivors and recover victims.
